Passing Madagascar

Land was sighted off the port bow at 14:17 on 11 February 2008. At last! The few vague pyramids of darker blue in the distance - were mountains on the North East coast of Madagascar. For the first time in weeks, the monotomy of the endless, empty vistas of surrounding ocean, was broken. Once again, we were connected to land - if only through this tenious visual link.

We'll slowly crawl around it - staying well offshore - and make our way into the Mozambique channel. Another 16 days to Cape Town!
